North End BIZ Mayor’s BIZ Award 2023
Please welcome the North End BIZ award recipient, Paul Szurlej.
Paul has invested in the North End community for over 25 years. Golden Hand Jewelry located at 967 Main Street is a neighbourhood fixture, known for its unique offerings as well as for its eye-catching building design.
During the pandemic, Paul invested in his community and purchased a couple of storefronts in need of repair that were adjacent to his existing business. He invested time, energy and money into creating a larger space for Golden Hand Jewelry, which also improved the look and feel of his portion of Main Street.
He commissioned stunning murals that adorn the sides of buildings at 955 and 967 Main Street. The murals attract a lot of positive attention – making the images both Googleicious and Instagrammable.
Paul believes the North End is a place filled with opportunity. And he obviously leads by example.
