Matt de la Lande, Recipient of the 2016 Mayor’s BIZ Award!

In a May 13, 2016 ceremony at City Hall, Mayor Brian Bowman presented the 2016 Mayor’s Business Improvement Zone (BIZ) Awards to recognize and celebrate  thev contributions Winnipegger’s and organizations have made to enhance their local Business Improvement Zone.

“I have always been a proponent of the work our BIZ do to help grow our city,” said Mayor Bowman. “The Mayor’s Awards provide an opportunity to show our gratitude and appreciation for the positive outcomes Winnipegger’s are achieving through our BIZ. Congratulations to all the award recipients today, and thank you for contributing towards a stronger Winnipeg.”

This prestigious award is presented annually to individuals, organizations and businesses that have made significant contributions to their local Business Improvement Zone. Awards are presented for exemplary work that contributes to the BIZ programs in a variety of ways. Awards acknowledge contributions in the areas of special events, marketing, promotions, beautification, physical enhancement, and safety.

The Mayor’s award recipient from the North End BIZ is Matt de la Lande.

Matt de la Lande sits on the North End Biz board as Vice President and has been an active member on the board for the last three years. Matt also volunteers with a few of the churches in the North End as well as dedicated in the upgrade of their store front property.
